M is best for ~6 lbs (≈2.7 kg) pets, such as kittens, teacup dogs, or other tiny fluffballs.
L is best for ~12 lbs (≈5.4 kg) pets, like most adult cats, Pomeranians, etc.
XL is best for ~18 lbs (≈8.2 kg), chubby cats, small French Bulldogs, and Mini Schnauzers.
